Lot 15
1787 Fugio Cent Newman 6-W R4 VF20. A STATES UNITED variety. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate blending to darker chocolate brown in the protected areas. The surfaces are smooth except for a few shallow planchet flakes (as struck) and traces of microscopic roughness in protected areas on the reverse. No marks or verdigris. A decent example for the grade. Listed on page 89 in the "Redbook." Estimate Value $500 - UP

Lot 16
1787 Fugio Cent Newman 8-X R3 PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved. PCGS graded MS-63 Brown. A STATES UNITED variety. Choice lustrous medium steel brown with a couple subtle puffs of slightly darker steel brown toning on both sides. Hints of underlying faded mint color remain visible on the obverse and this piece offers excellent eye appeal. No planchet flaws or other defects; essentially flawless. Later die state with a massive die crack at the bottom of the obverse that has created a shelf in the die face. Almost certainly an example from the famous Bank of New York Hoard of 1641 mint state Fugio Cents, and 189 of those were of this die variety. High grade Fugio Cents from that hoard frequently are available in the marketplace, but this is an especially nice one. Listed on page 89 in the "Redbook." (PCGS # 883) Estimate Value $4,000 - UP
